Apologetics: Defending the Faith

  • First Baptist Church of the Lakes 9125 Spring Mountain Road Las Vegas, NV, 89117 United States (map)

Christians are called to offer a rational defense for their hope in the gospel (1 Peter 3:15). Such an apologetic will include reasons for belief as well as a refutation of unbelief. Moreover, it will be characterized by humility and respect.

To that end Reformed Baptist Seminary is offering a three-day seminar on Christian apologetics with a special focus on the practical aspects of defending the faith. Dr Jeffrey Johnson, author of The Absurdity of Unbelief, will contrast the Christian worldview with other world religions and philosophies. Dr. Brian Borgman, author of Feelings and Faith, will address what is perhaps the most serious objection to Christianity. Namely, "God and the Problem of Evil." Finally, Pastor Robert Briggs will lecture on the practical use of apologetics in church ministry. The twelve lectures will serve as part of the curriculum for ST 501 Apologetics.
