Study skills are not formally taught in most schools, yet are vital to success throughout the school and career years. The SOS program was designed to remedy this problem with an easy-to-implement, 18-hour course that teaches listening, note-taking, memory, time-management, and test-taking skills. Based on learning-styles research and many years of classroom experience, this program has been successfully used in thousands of schools from elementary to post-secondary.
The program materials come in two versions--one for grades 5 through 8 (Basic), and the other for grades 9 and up (Advanced). All instructional and testing materials are included for an 18-hour course. The program is flexible; it can be condensed or expanded.
The S.O.S. program includes a 200-plus page Teacher's Manual; a Student Workbook, containing over 100 pages of student activities; and an audiotape with listening activities for students.
