The Forces, Energy and Motion Set offers and exciting, versatile, hands-on opportunity to address fundamental physical science concepts. Students use rubber band and spring motor powered vehicles to investigate principles of potential and kinetic energy, and identify the differences between energy associated with position and condition. The options for vehicle design and testing are unlimited, and each variation is easily duplicated to ensure valid, consistent, and reliable results. The curriculum is organized in a series of activities achieved through classroom discussion and independent laboratory exercises. Teachers using consumable materials like balsa wood, CO2 and mousetrap vehicles to teach these concepts will appreciate the benefits of flexible, reusable K'NEX.
