As a non-profit organization, RBS has successfully provided educational improvement services for over 40 years to many educators in New Jersey and several other states. RBS' mission since 1966 has been to help improve student learning, teacher knowledge, and school operational effectiveness.

In its January 2006 meeting, the RBS Board of Directors approved the development of a Center for International Studies and Exchange, which would contribute to the improvement of U.S. curriculum, instruction, and professional development using international content and perspectives, with the ultimate goal of improving both school effectiveness and international understanding.

Lesson Study RBS has conducted regional conferences, published papers and books on this popular model for teacher professional development, curriculum planning, and examination of student learning processes.  Extensive descriptive information and links to products are presented.
International studies: Mathematics and Science For the duration of the Eisenhower national program, RBS served as home for the Eisenhower Consortium for Mathematics and Science Education. The Trends in Mathematics and Science Studies (TIMSS) reports and findings were and important part of this work. Key TIMSS links are included in the section, as well as an online resource guide for using the TIMSS videos for professional development purposes.
Elementary Mathematics and Geometry RBS has developed extensive resources called Improving Mathematics and Geometry in Elementary Schools (IMAGES). They are presented here.
International Projects RBS is developing a portfolio of international work, which is briefly depicted here, along with profiles of selected countries.
Memphis Striving Readers The RBS-developed website on this reading project research and evaluation, also referenced under the Research and Evaluation section.
Center for Cognition and Science Instruction RBS is a partner in this 21st Century Center for Research and Development in Cognition and Science Instruction.
