Council on International Educational Exchange: CIEE is a leading U.S. non-governmental international education organization. CIEE creates and administers programs that allow high school and university students and educators to study and teach abroad. CIEE is composed of three interrelated but operationally independent entities based in Portland, ME; Boston, MA; and Tokyo, Japan. Global Interactions: Global Interactions builds international partnerships through education and worldwide professional exchanges. Working in the context of the “flat world” paradigm, they bring together counterparts from across the world to share best practices, research, and technologies, as well as a passion to create the world we want to live in. Global Interactions has sponsored over 90 groups from the United States that have traveled and met with their professional colleagues from the People’s Republic of China, India, Kenya, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa. International Institute of Education: An independent nonprofit founded in 1919, IIE is among the world's largest and most experienced international education and training organizations. IIE is committed to delivering program excellence to a diverse range of participants, sponsors, and donors through: 1. promoting closer educational relations between the people of the United States and those of other countries; 2. strengthening and linking institutions of higher learning globally; 3. rescuing threatened scholars and advancing academic freedom; and 4. building leadership skills and enhancing the capacity of individuals and organizations to address local and global challenges. International Research and Exchanges Board: IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing leadership and innovative programs to improve the quality of education, strengthen independent media, and foster pluralistic civil society development. Founded in 1968, IREX has an annual portfolio of $50 million and a staff of over 400 professionals worldwide. IREX and its partner IREX Europe deliver cross-cutting programs and consulting expertise in more than 50 countries. International Visitors Council of Philadelphia: IVC is an international relations organization and the "door" to the greater Philadelphia community for guests of the U.S. Government as well as individuals and corporations seeking professional connections to the people and institutions of our region. The IVC mission is to promote mutual understanding among nations and prevent wars by bringing people 'face to face' and creating a dialogue between Americans and guests from abroad. IVC promotes democracy, free enterprise, international trade and educational exchanges. The site includes event announcements, program descriptions, newsletters, and resource links.
People to People Citizen Ambassador Program: People to People Citizen Ambassador Programs provide foreign educational travel experiences for professionals and unique access programs for selected avocations. Through meetings, seminars or humanitarian efforts, and cultural activities, participants connect with people with similar interests or professions while overseas. The programs join common interests in uncommon places through journeys that enrich the world, one person at a time. World Affairs Council of Philadelphia: The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia is a private, non-profit, non-partisan educational organization dedicated to creating a more informed citizenry on matters of national and international significance. Established in 1949 as a forum for discussing differing points of view, the Council does not endorse candidates for public office or lobby for policies. Membership is open to all who share its principles. The Council currently serves over 120 corporate members and their CEOs, and more than 4,000 other executives and individual members.
