Mathematics and Science Partnerships

Building on its experience operating the Mid-Atlantic Eisenhower Consortium for Mathematics and Science Education, RBS has worked with several mathematics and science partnerships in an evaluative role. This work includes six years with the NSF-funded Math and Science Partnership of Greater Philadelphia (MSPGP). The MSPGP is focused on ensuring that students have access to challenging mathematics courses, improving the quality of the mathematics and science teacher workforce, and conducting research on effective practices that improve student achievement and institutional reform.

Other examples include the South Jersey Mathematics/Science Partnership Evaluation, where RBS is conducting process, outcome, and impact studies of this program to be funded by the U.S. Department of Education., and the Washington County (MD) Math/Science Partnership Evaluation, where RBS is evaluating the Physics Unraveled and Chemistry Distilled professional development programs for elementary and middle school teachers. RBS’ role in these projects is to evaluate how effectively the programs met their goals.
