The 21st Century Community Learning Centers are an initiative of the federal government, administered by states, and operated by individual school districts. The goal of these after-school programs is to improve students' academic achievement and social skills. The program also seeks to impact the family dynamic through parental involvement in their children's education.
RBS has conducted multiple-year third-party evaluations in a number of school districts including Hamilton Township, NJ; Carteret, NJ; Cumberland County, NJ; and Philadelphia, PA. The evaluation activities include the following tasks:
- Conduct site visit observations
- Develop and administer surveys to parents, students, and program staff
- Review students' academic and disciplinary records
- Survey students and teachers
- Prepare evaluation reports
- Provide consultation to project management.
