Come and join your colleagues for this 2-day dynamic and engaging
presentation.
The learning targets of this 2-day workshop are to provide educational leaders with
the tools, strategies, and processes for building a school culture that ensures all
students are learning at high levels. Participants will learn not only how to build, but
how to sustain and improve the effectiveness of professional learning communities
in their schools.
Day one of the workshop will briefly address the big ideas of a PLC and explore
strategies and processes for building PLC’s. Participants will be able to identify
those factors that support as well as destroy efforts to build a collaborative culture.
The hands-on portion of the first day will include learning how to lead protocols for
collaborative examination of data and root cause analysis.
Day two of the workshop will focus on the guaranteed and viable curriculum, a
prerequisite for establishing effective professional learning communities in schools.
Participants will not only establish and define the components of a guaranteed and
viable curriculum, but they will also identify the processes that are necessary to
ensure continuous improvement, the hallmark of professional learning
communities. Participants will have the opportunity to review and create
exemplary curriculum documents and processes that result from the collaborative
examination of data and root cause analyses. Curriculum work will be linked to
SAS as a tool to support PLC efforts. Day 2 will also feature an update on new
features of SAS.
